Brushless drill not working

I've got a DeWalt 18v brushless drill that has started making a burning smell and slowing right down after 10 seconds use. Will go another 10 seconds if cool. Tried blowing vents out with compressor and spraying with WD40 neither of which made a big difference.

Anything easy worth trying? Or skip it? They're not dear to buy another, and I have use of a Milwaukee so probably won't rush to replace it just now. I also have a DeWalt strimmer so the batteries won't go to waste lol.

Could be in warranty depending on when you bought it.

It's at least a couple of years unfortunately. At £89 for a new bare drill it's hardly worth getting someone to look at it lol

Just checked. December 2016 and the same drill available for £59! Hardly worth worrying about lol

The batteries are generally the expensive bit. Even if the body was in warranty, they’d just skip it and send you a fresh body as its uneconomical to repair when new bodies retail for around sixty quid.
