Building a bridge

May need to build a bridge over river.
Was thinking rsj with sleepers for livestock and quad bike. The rsj's would need to be about 10 meters long (approx 6 meters river with 2 meters bearing on each bank. Can anyone calculate the size of rsj needed or offer an alternative solution.

Buy an old one. Think it's Beaver's that operate from Shropshire. They often have old/decommissioned footbridges for sale.

Powerpoles often work out pretty cheap compared to steel
Otherwise the obvious, hare-courser's Transit, trackrolled to shape

A pair of 356 x 127 x 33 would support a 14 tonne point load with a 6m span. (9 tonne with a 7m span)

305 x 102 x 25 would support 8 tonne with a 6m span (5 tonne with 7m span)

The weight of the bridge deck needs to be factored in.

How about a old 45ft trailer.. cut axles and hangers out of it..weld on few bars on each side of it.. if you done it rite u could make it into a pen to gather sheep up to.. be very cheep way of doing it...

Google " flat rack", as said before cheap bridge , just need to cut the ends off
