Building bay width

I've always been brought up with building bays width of 15ft or 20ft mainly to match in with the existing sheds. I'm hoping to put a shed up away from main holding. Got a steel frame ordered and am looking at getting the purlins sorted. I can get them in 4.5m or 4.8m lengths. The question is can I make it with 16ft bays or is that me being daft!

We have a 16 foot bay on our apex shed and the lean to next to it and the lean to next to that and the one next to that and the one next to that so can't see its a problem. :giggle:
I helped put up a shed that was made to fit some concreate sleepers, that was a really odd bay width

Most of the buildings here are 16ft bays, why the first was done like that I don’t know but I believe it’s not uncommon. As we’ve extended across we’ve simply matched what was already there

Our one was made 16 foot so the 15 foot gates that were already there could still be used
