Had a bulling heifer turned up with mastitis today, haven’t seen it in a one here for a long time. Is there anything that causes this? Or is it just the number of flies this time?

A lot more than normal this year, I'm hearing about herds who never normally have bother but have been having issues.
Flies are a nightmare this year.
