Butterfly’s when buying

You crunched the numbers done a demo thought of ever bad scenario and asked your self do I really need a new machine and decided yes how many still get that feeling of butterfly’s when spending a large amount on say a new tractor or combine or am I just always over cautious and been round the block too many times

You would not be human if you didn,t. Tractors and machinery are so expensive today, its hard to justify sometimes.

It’s such a weird feeling this being human thing and it going to hold its value and be cost effective
So not worried about that it’s the natural disaster that you Carnt plan for that give me the most grief
Some say if that’s the case don’t get out of bed but the last natural disaster that hit me was foot and mouth back in 2001 when I just paid out on a big batch of cattle and ended up seriously de valued as trade fell through the floor

I think we all get like that. As they say though if you start and keep all the old gear and not replace anything you end up with a heap of scrap that ultimately costs more to swap in the end. Plus technology moves on some of it we need so we don’t

I wake up in a lather and decide it is too much money to spend..seemed perfectly sensible the night before

Well I agree there this idea has been on an off the shelf so many times but the deal was done an hour ago and I feel much better and more confident in knowing the decision was hard thought out butterfly’s have gone only tonight sleepless lather to look forward to lol

Well if you have managed 17 years between anything you consider a "disaster" you are doing very well, better than most I would think (y)

I would say a sign of any good farmer or business is how well they manage setbacks , That could be a pretty simple thing a machine breakdown or a really big issue like a serious disease such as foot foot and mouth.
No one wants either, but when they arrive you can't avoid them they have to be dealt with the best don't fly off in rage and rant or sulk or become depressed or any other negative reaction, sure they are not happy but they just get on and fix the machine , change the plan and adjust to it so it becomes an inconvenience rather than a disaster.

Nearly bought a new motorbike last Monday it was the model and spec I've been looking out for. I never spend money on myself, I've always put the business first this was going to be my treat. I felt so bad about getting it, I didn't go through with it. Was thinking over the course of the week it's too bad a single man with no big outlays can't get something for himself now and again. Phoned the dealer back, bike sold waiting list 3 months :banghead:
