err, in our scenario, payments of 55 - 65K ( sorry, don't have a pound sign on this keyboard ) are pretty small fry
Im one of the smallest farmers I know & my interest per annum would be about that in $$ . . .

I know one farmer who is paying $1 million / annum to lease land he hasn't been able to plant a crop on for 3 years now ( he does own a substantial amount of land next to this lease block )
PS - he isn't subsidising that from other money outside of his farming business

Now, that's gotta hurt . . .
The amount really does not make any difference, it is the ability to make payments that is important, I wouldn't mind my annual payments being down to £55- 65k (press option 3 on a Mac for the £ sign ).
The Antipodes have a different attitude to debt than the UK, this could be because they are prepared to take more risk, or simply because as young countries there is not the same amount of inherited wealth around.
