Calf cubicles

Thinking of converting a slatted shed to accommodate heifer calves on cubicles and mats from weaning to turnout at about 8 months of age. Guessing they'll be 250+kgs at that stage. What cubicle dimensions should be used? They're currently loose housed on straw. Pictures of setups and opinions appreciated.

Think ours are at 26" centre's.

Got some set on cubicles from moores a few years back. A concrete base 4x2 with cubicle cast in. They worked well for me, as they sat on the existing slats either side of a centre feed passage..with a few pipes on their uprights for a feed rail. They also come in 5x2.5 I think.....

Mine are 2'6" calves go in at a week and stay until 6-8 months. Some do turn around to start but the bed is on a slope so they soon start lying the correct way. Works a treat and costs next to nothing in sawdust.

Calf cubicles

Has anybody put in cubicles for weaned calves before? We have a small loosebox around 12x18ft which is just causing no end of grief with the calves going backwards and struggling in there. Has a concrete floor that seems to slope into it and the bedding is very hard to keep dry in there. Will be...
