With the high demand for on-farm testing equipment and need to keep accuracy high, Perten have introduced the new AM5800 which is designed to outperform existing instruments, yet stay at a competitive price. The AM5800 adds to our On-Farm testing range alongside the Portable IM8800 designed for portable and accurate use for farmers.
The New AM5800 uses the same technology and calibrations as the existing Aquamatic 5200 Moisture Meter used in Grain Processing facilities. By using the same technology as the UGMA approved Aquamatic, the AM5800 is able to analyse grains, oilseeds, pulses, beans, seeds and much more.
The AM5800 is a manual Moisture Meter which analyses the moisture levels and specific weight within 20 seconds. The portable and robust system allows farmers to sample check their grain quality levels easily straight from the field, in store and at the dryer.
The Moisture Meter is easy to use with no sample weighing or size; just pour the sample into the hopper and pull the handle to start the analysis. The AM5800 takes care of the rest.
With a touch screen interface and the capability to input sample IDs, view results on a remote screen and update through Bluetooth, the AM5800 is ideal for farmer’s on-the-go requiring laboratory standard analysis.

Due to the increased rainfall in the UK this year, the risk of infected crops is much higher than that in 2015.
According to AHDB funded monitoring work, the mixed mycotoxin outlook in the UK for Winter Wheat was 73% moderate risk, and 17% for high risk of infection.
Risk levels were estimated based on crop growth stage information. Analysis showed that over 70% of the UK was moderate risk, which is much higher than the fusarium risk reported in 2015.
