have a two week calve that has been panting like a dog all day in the heat. I put them out yest morning and temps are about 25degrees today, other calves are fine, he is smaller and hairier than the others. He is drinking fine and had some water as well. I dont want to stress him when its hot by catching him to check his temp, if hes still doing it later when its cooler was going to, will I give him a jab of antibiotic too . Theres not much shade in the field but havent seen one distressed before with the heat as its not often hot here

If hes not doing it when it gets cooler then im thinking its the high heat ,but its only him affected

Sorry my mistake, just read you hadn't checked temp...if it's pneumonia then you'll need more than alamycin, you'll need a anti inflammatory as well...you need to check his temp asap really, if it's high you'll be better off with something like draxxin
