I’m looking to instal some cameras cctv in the calving shed before autumn.
Has anyone put cameras in themselves and if so what have you used please? If you’ve used a third party to fit who are the best company’s?
We are only a small herd so I haven’t got silly money to throw around.
I’d be grateful of any advice. Thank you.

This is the picture of our recently installed cctv in the calving pen, got 2 in 2 corners of the pen. Quite happy with the picture but nothing’s better than walking all the way to the pen to make sure everything’s alright!

6 hd cameras, hd monitor and a 2 tb hard drive, 2 cameras in the calving shed and the other 4 around the yard for security
What prompt you to stick them in the yard? Did you have thefts? I put one in front of oil tank and fuel tank and silage pit which has a good view of things. Our neighbour had fuel stolen and there was very suspicious tyre tracks when our fuel tank was empty. Keeping an eye on the cows was my main reason for doing it tho.

Living within a mile of the m6 junction, gives us good enough reason to be suspicious, plenty of thefts occur and the culprits on the mway and gone.
