If OSR is cut at 30c is the moisture that a moisture meter reads what the actual crop moisture is, if the crop is cooled will the moisture reading rise?? are we not reading oil/moisture in OSR as actual water moisture?? sorry for being a bit thick.

We have to adjust our meter readings to temp. For every 5 degrease above 20 degrease we deduct half a %

If anything I think moisture would drop if crop is ventilated. Wheat here today was measuring over 38 degrees, which is as hot as it comes off my drier usually, after being cooled the mc% is often slightly lower than we were measuring at drier off take but be aware that this is all down to how good your moisture meter is at compensating for temperature. Take a sample and test it, cool it to a sensible temp and test it again.

Most modern meters have a temperature correction so need to be left for a few seconds before taking the reading. Older ones like Marconis don't.
