Can you trim wood edges after end Feb?

Technically they are not a hedge but can you trim woodland edges. I have some rather neglected wood edges that need cutting back so really they are small trees, ash elder etc Just been too wet up til now

i read this as a no, think they added tree branches into the hedge rules a few years ago

We were advised that tree branches come into the ban in Scotland.

Did a stack last week, just dropped them and will worry about the collection and tidying up another day

But you can lay hedges and copice trees until the end of April.

Judging by what wombat posted I can cut new growth trees up to 15cm as they are underwood compared to the main wood, at any time of year. But I can’t trim the sides coming from anything bigger.
