If he has only had one other leave in his patch he will not be bothered then.

If you do quit the NFU, you can rejoin at a later date if you wish, I do not believe there is a loyalty discount for being a member for X years or whatever.
I cancelled the DD last month.

I did say why we cancelled (RT,GFC,NZ, non assured Imports) He reckons they’re listening?!

Had the NFU branch secretary around yesterday, apparently we will loose £800 discount on farm insurance and life cover of £60k from cancelling.

He said cancelling is not the way to bring around change, and he’s only had one other cancel in his patch🤷‍♂️
Surely if you paid life cover they can not drop the amount just cos your not in nfu...? You paid a premium for a certain amount of cover.

We left NFU mutual when we cancelled NFU, went back to mutual a year later and it was much cheaper than when we had all the so called benefits of membership. It's rubbish, and they really don't like to accept/admit how many have resigned.
About 9-10,000 over past 2 years if reports are correct.

Pretty bad when NFU heads go on regional visits and members are told they can't mention Red Tractor. And they wonder why they've lost members.

Even this week's statement by AHDB/NFU about GFC goes on to say Red Tractor is in danger of losing farmer support, and this is an existential threat to RT, therefore they've to convince farmers RT is great.

Just had my mutual insurance renewal through. Up by 21% for the exact same thing. Had a meeting and they are going to review it but I won’t be renewing unless they stick with last years price which I felt was too high anyway. Historically they’ve always been the cheapest for me as I’ve had comparative quotes. So looks like they’ll be loosing my insurance business as well. The agent said his hands are tied somewhat.
The commercial vehicle element was actually up by 28%.
How long does everybody have business interruption cover for? We’ve got a mix of 24 and 36 months for some none farming stuff but due to lead times and the fact some of it is bespoke it could be 2 years to sort out.
