Does anyone know the gross margin per acre of pond when growing carp for anglers? Or can direct me where I might find some more information?

I know it can be a bit of a bigger for permissions and such too, as it doesn't count as agriculture.

Change of land use etc required, even if the existing pond is already there and in use for irrigation.

Does it definitely not count as agriculture or is it a question of where you sell them? So if you grew them for food for say, the Polish community it would count but for fishermen it doesn’t?

I can't be too sure, I haven't looked into it in that much detail. But...

I can tell you that you cannot get agricultural PD rights for ponds to be used as fisheries or the production of fish, as they don't deem it an agricultural activity.

I assume that growing Carp for sale to fisheries is covered under that 'production of fish' caveat.

As such I then also assume any new ponds would require appropriate planning, and any land currently deemed agricultural would need change of use as a result.
