I bought my last contract phone throught them, they have sent me an e-mailing saying i can upgrade, so i rang to check this.
The question asked was "when does my contract end" 24/9/15
So i double check on O2, here it states 24/10/15,
So i have been told a blatent lie by them.

What would you do? OFCOM?

Some contracts do have an early upgrade which is often 1 month before end of contract. Perhaps they were suggesting this although like you say it is wrong.

I have a similar issue with companies phoning me trying to get me to upgrade. What they don't tell me is they are not o2 just another chancer after my money.

I would start pricing the opposition as you are almost out of contract they will all want your money.

Why not just wait a month, why get in a sweat about it?

I've no problem with the offer to upgrade. Its the lie that my contract ends a month later than he said. I specifically asked when my contract ENDS not when I can upgrade.
Why should these companies get away with lying like this.

I've found the complete opposite. I'm on an O2 contract through a private company. Been with this firm for a good number of years and have noticed that my contract has been lengthened every year by a month. Reason that annoyed me was that I would of been looking for a new phone around the time that "I thought" my contract ended, they would of said no come back in a month, and I would of just assumed I was mistaken. It is at the point now that they told me recently that my contract ends in January, last year I was sure it was in December and when I first joined the company I distinctly remember it was just before lambing around late march.

My theory was that they got commission on my contract on a monthly basis and had to buy me a phone out of that every year and then every two years when that rule "conveniently" came into play.

Sorry I was probably no help whatsoever, but at least I got that rant off my chest! :wacky:

If this is all you have to worry about, you lead a charmed life, so go get it. ['a life', that is]

I have made a complaint due to the fact it could lock an unsuspecting person into an unsuitable tariff. Perhaps me worrying about things like this may actually help someone? That would be a first for some on here I know!
