Going to look at one of the above at the weekend, anybody any advice what to look out for?

Also any idea on top speed of these tractors, do a small bit of contract spraying and would like something nippy for longer road journeys, would the 856 be comparable to the 885/895 or an 844, think I read on the forum that all the 844's were 40k but that was possibly referring to 4wd models.

Thanks for any info.

I doubt it will be nippy. The only 40km/h in that era were centre drive 4wd and then usually an option. The 2wd 955xl that we had was very slow. Heavier back end than 85/95 series.

Thanks lads, I'm not expecting to get pinned to the seat then!! Will take a look anyway but I will likely hold out for a 4wd, they are serious money for what they are though unfortunately.

It won't be 40k, but 18.4x38s should fit if you think you can stop it

This is the vehicle in question, don't know what size rubber it's on but if they are as good as they look in the photo I wouldn't be planning on changing them.

The snail one i drove was on 13.6 r 38s. They are clearly wider and don't look like original rims so maybe 16.9 r 38s? in which case will help. Front grill should be black........ Not that that matters.

That looks like a promotion photo! Have you seen it close to? Are you familiar with the XL cab and rot spots ?

Only been talking on the phone, he says cab is very clean and he has tidied the paint up, brother will be looking at it for me and he'd be a man for fixing any rot so I'm sure he'll give it a pretty close inspection.

Use them plenty and see if you can see signs of bleeding, not going to be easy to do that?
You could always ask, but sure we know the answer you'll get ...........

Asking "are the brakes hard to bleed" might draw him out a bit.
