Some one reversed the tractor into the shed with sunroof open. Whats best and strongest way of repairing were the sunroof hinges fit??

Our roof was only cracked after the hinges siezed and the sunroof was opened. I made bigger plates for under the roof so that there wasn't any pressure on the repaired area, cut the cracks out and then filled with fibreglass and body filler.

That sounds like a good idea. Going to have a look how bad the damage is in the morning. Did you just use standard fibreglass and resin??

Ours wasn't too bad so used Isopon, think it's p40 that has the fibres in it, then a skim of filler. Getting support for the hinges is the most important thing. The standard plates that the screws for the hinges go into are only about 50mmx10mm.

Seen several of the early XL cabs with the sun roof screwed down and mastic filling the area around it as those were devils to leak and water stain the roof trim internally.

The later ones were different and not inset. If you are doing a GRP repair clean off any paint or gel coat before applying fibre/resin. You will not have much time in warm weather before the products turns.
