Case Maxxum Compensator valve.

I've just had to have a compensator valve replaced on my Maxxum at 1040 hours. The problem was the tractor was unable to fold a lely lotus 770 tedder up or lift a mower quickly on the headlands. It seems that this valve has a high failure rate. My previous puma 130 also had issues with the same valve as does my friends puma 130 which is why he was having problems with his Fusion 3. The workshop manager and one of the fitters at my local dealership admit that they fit a lot of these valves. I've been told that they become scored internally due to contamination. I always wipe all hydraulic connectors so what more can I do. Sounds like a flawed design to me even workshop manager said Case should fit a filter before the valve.
What are other peoples experiences with this valve and has anyone had any luck with getting Case or New Holland to contribute to repair costs.

We had the compensator valve go on our 2017 t7.210 within the first 200 hours, we were told that there was a dodgy batch that had gone through, it was replaced under warranty and touch wood hasn’t gone wrong since.

I had to replace the compensator valve on my maxxum 130 mc at about 1700 hour.

Genuine was £750 just for the valve. I removed the whole pump myself as I thought the pump was at fault. I took it to a local hydralics guy who suspected the compensatory valve but as I'd removed the pump saud he's go through it for me. He ordered a new valve direct from rexroth and set it up acording to the numbers on the pump on his test bed and only charged me £250.

Touch wood it's been fine since but it can go wrong 2 more times and it still wouldn't cost any more than once if I'd used the main stealers.

Thanks for that I'll look into independent hydraulic specialists. Is the pump hard to get to?

I would it'll save you a fortune. Any one who has access to Bosch rexroth parts can get one it's listed on there website by the pump number and part number stamped on the compensator.

To get at the pump just take the back wheel off. The compensator is located on top of the pump and can be removed without dismantling the pump , if you Jack the cab up it gives you more room. It's held on with 4 set screws which take a 8mm Allen key.

To remove the whole pump it's a couple of hours job but is only a case of undoing and removing lots of pipes really but to do the compensator that's not necessary.

Ps a new valve will come blank and will need to have the pressures set. All the info the hydralic man needs is on the plate on the pump. It can be set on the tractor using a gauge or on a test bed.
