Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has got one of these and what their experiences are.

Looking for people who have actually done this or those or seriously looked into it and didn't go ahead

Thanks

Looked into it -club comes to inspect.
This was local club regular caravanning people .
New water point and these days electric pitch hook ups required.
Also need chemical toilet waste tanks different to sewage system.
Signs pack available off club.
All seems ok for small 5 van site, but bigger you go more services required.
Not proceeded but may one day .

I looked into it but as you say needed mains water in the field and toilet only reason I didn't go ahead was we in the national parks and they didn't think parks would allow it Shame as was perfect situation looking onto the white horse
Would have been a nice little cash number

Don't think getting water or electric to the area I have in mind would be too expensive

We've just bought 4 acres with level road access, water supply and amazing views.
It joins up to the fields round the yard and a big enough armoured cable wouldn't drop the voltage too much.
The far half of the land doesn't overlook us at all.:cool:

Just developing a caravan club site at the moment, a good view is a bonus!

We used to be users of C&CC. The minimum you need is water, waste dump and a bin. You can head up to all singing and dancing shower blocks, hook up etc. The more you provide the more you can charge and the more customer your get. Some strange folk will never use the bathroom in their caravan! Likewise the more you provide the more maintenance you get.

As with all customers most are fine some are 'special' and others should be taken out of the gene pool.

If I ever go with hook up, I would install a pay per use system, after watching a caravan leaving electric heating and lighting on in a caravan and awning then leaving for the day and evening. However pay per use leccy deter a few due to high charges.

Stayed in many places from tucked in farm yard corners to empty fields but now use brit stops instead of C&CC or CC.

We have run a CC 5 van site for 40 years. Now trying to open a c&cc site on an off lying field. Electric essential for customers. 100 amp supply isn't cheap to install but long term okay.
Wet weather is our highest cost- hard standing or cancellations

Would those who run sites say you need to live on the site or be very close by? I have a really scenic patch that could be used but its 6 miles away from home.

They try everything some off them .
You need to be around for payments , problems etc.
What sort of problems? Surely they turn up, pay, then leave?
No, seriously, thinking about it myself. About 500 yards from scenic coastline. However, site I was thinking of using isn't scenic:whistle: . It's an area of concrete behind farm buildings, and close to the road for easy access. Getting electric, and water to the site would be easy enough. Would they be happy pitching up by farm buildings ?
