Their banner keeps popping up here but I'm never offered the brand by my regular suppliers. Why is this? Is it the same everywhere or have they just been squeezed out from just the merchants I happen to deal with?

They supply everything , my fert came via CF , nitram and potash.

Me neither.
When it was all Growhow it was always the Yara stuff my merchants had to offer never the blue bag stuff. Thought some of themmight have had the CF stuff on offer this year but no mention of it.

Are there any merchants in West Wales selling it ? I recall, with rose tinted specs maybe, the quality of the prills that came from the 1cwt blue bags.....
I'm buggered if I'm going to buy the same shite I had last year again.

We had Growhow last year with big CF stickers covering the GH logos. Plenty of lumps in it. Looked just like the above pic :(

Cefin Evans Wynnstay sell it. Prag may do too actually.

We normally buy it because it's British but we wanted urea for first round so didn't this time. Maybe will do for second buy mid season

I was just wondering, because I never ask for fertiliser by brand, but saw the blue bag adverts here and it struck me that none of the merchants I ask have ever offered me CF fertiliser, only the other lot from Cheshire or Bristol, or lesser known here-today-gone-tomorrow brands.

CF Fertilisers have evolved from what was ICI, Shell fertilisers. Their flagship brand being Nitram. For background on CF, look at Wiki entry for CF Industries. Started as farmer co-op in US, but demutualised in 2002.

I tend to flog Yara or whatever imported is about at the time if people so request it. I would much prefer to work only with Yara product as the chance of getting any kind of complaint about Yara product is remote in the extreme.
So we can infer from that, that CF's quality control isn't to as high a standard?
I certainly remember getting more 'cones' of hard fertiliser in blue bags. However, the quality of the compound and its consistency, ignoring the odd cone or stalactite has been historically excellent and much better than the dusty blends sold by others.

cf had Kean pricing in October, but had to take delivery in October, we haven't taken fert in as early for years as usually short of space, luckily it didn't arrive until end of November.
bags were wet on the outside even though curtainsider, asked driver how it got wet, seems its stored outside at factory, that's probably the source of the 'cones'

I think the cones drop off the drilling tower nozzles after reaching a critical mass. Not sure why it is so difficult to sieve them out before they reach a bag.
