CF Fertiliser

So we can infer from that, that CF's quality control isn't to as high a standard?
I certainly remember getting more 'cones' of hard fertiliser in blue bags. However, the quality of the compound and its consistency, ignoring the odd cone or stalactite has been historically excellent and much better than the dusty blends sold by others.

I have no clue, I am not certain of all the in's and out's in the fertiliser world, I just want the stuff delivered on time to be honest. As with chemistry, I have no particular allegiance to any particular brand and so it is all the same to me regardless.

The problem is that there are a dozen permutations for everything and what one man calls 'Nitram' is in fact Ammonium Nitrate imported from Egypt, being termed 34% by his neighbour when it is only actually 33%- you get the idea.

There doesn't appear to be any pattern or reason in poor quality, A few years ago I sold a few people a few loads of one particular product which happened to be imported. All the stuff was delivered in the same month and presumably from the same load that had been landed. Only one complaint which was to do with it not spreading correctly, not a huge issue as it was only on grass but still, it was a valid issue. Meanwhile not a peep from anyone else.

Blends vs compounds again, sometimes blends can be dusty, sometimes they are good. I am told blends containing sulphur become solid over time and so don't store well...

And last but not least, I can't understand the market pricing of fertiliser and probably never will. It's like Chinese whispers.
