Cf moto quad

I had one on demo, I would call it cheap and cheerful. I ended up getting a Yamaha for £8500, it does feel better quality and is more pleasant to use. I also thought the Yam will hold its value better and there wouldn’t be much difference in lifetime cost
Son in law had one on demo a couple of months ago, i tried it for a couple of hours and liked it save for all the kit/controls on handlebar which looks cluttered compared with our Honda 420. He has had it for 6 weeks doing his field walking and has no complaints. It will have an easier life than ours so he was happy to risk the unknown quantity for £5500 otr. Dealer only signed up a few months ago and has sold over 30 in first 3 months.

I tried to take CF moto dealership on. I like the product but their dealer network is pretty crap here. Quadzilla only have one importer here who has the whole thing tied up with about 5 other brands, they have sub dealer who carries little to no stock whos not far away. When I enquired about buying the gator type from him told me he'd never actually seen one and i would have to go to the main dealer to see it who's an hour away and but i couldnt buy from them. Quadzilla suggested that if I became a dealer they wanted me to purchase everything through the sub dealer....mental. Great product well placed in the market but let down by the current rep in the area. When KTM own half the business the product will be fairly good.

The big ATV franchise in the south west of Scotland has recently started importing and selling another brand of Chinese bike (can't remember name) , because they have admitted to losing so much business to the CF moto dealer that they had to do something. Have a 625 and a 520 here which are the 4th and 5th CF moto's we have had. Having been Honda ,Kawasaki and Can-am previously, I can say that the CF moto's are 100% the best value for money bikes we have ever owned. Indeed I would say the 520 is probably my favourite bike ever. Change them at 2 year old though so no experience of long term durability.

Do you prefer the 520 over the 625?
Iirc the 625 is a lot higher spec bike, even being able to tow @Nithsdale 's snacker?

Yes much prefer the 520, lighter very nippy bike which we generally keep at the hill farm. Only really tows a small trailer at lambing time or for taking blocks out to the hill and handles that no problem. Have the 625 on home farm since we do a bit more towing here. It's the bike due to change before lambing this year and son says he thinks he'll change to a 520 as well as he also likes it better and thinks it will be well capable of doing all we need it to. Dealer says 520 is by far his biggest seller.

Suzuki will cost £1200 per year to change after 3 years this time last one was kept 4 years and was £960 per year to change.

Guess a cf moto at £5800 3 years time will be £6600ish. Maybe debatable in 3 years itll be worth £3000? 1200 per year maybe.

It looks like they’re upgrading the CF Moto 520 again for the 2024 model...

Towing capacity is 802kg now @Nithsdale , but I’d guess it might struggle with that on a slope, only having 34hp? My CanAm650 has double that power (with a lower ‘book’ towing capacity), but you know when it’s towing uphill.

Running old bikes is fine for low demand users. Most farms killed those Honda's after 3 years, that's why you don't see many around now. Back axles are toffee, chassis failure, and the engines become thirsty for oil after 10,000kms hard use
Last bike I had before the new Honda was a 2014 420 when it left in 2019 it had 33,000 on the clock , Shepherd had a new king quad and did 13,000 in the first year

The list of failures we had on those 420's was insane. You must've got a good one as we had 3 over a 10yr period and I was pretty careful with them. So far the Suzukis are lasting longer with zero breakdowns
