Chains

Anybody recomend where I can get some long chains suitable for pulling logs lifting occasional items 20ft plus

Ships' chandlers? I go to Gaelforce for anything like that.

Not bought a chain for a while just looked 7 meter 10mm short long with hooks about 65 quid that expensive?

Try Crowland Cranes , last time we wanted a good tow chain they made up one for me to my spec while I waited .

Never use the same chain to tow and lift. Towing shock loads chains. A lifting chain is a lifting chain, a towing chain is just that.

Bought a load of chains today including a very nice set of brothers. On the look out for some plant tie downs now for a 14t excavator any going second hand?
