Suggestions please, as to which make/model of chainsaw to buy for cutting crooked cordwood , in to lengths suitable for putting through firewood wood processor.
Was thinking of the non professional smaller Husqvarna / Stihl,as they are all so horrendously expensive 🙀🤦🏻.

Keep an eye on Facebook - I just bought a lovely Stihl 171 in really nice condition with genuine sharpening kit and a spare new chain for ÂŁ100 - (checked the guy out beforehand - - genuine sale not stolen). Ideal hedging/cross cutting saw
Quite often you’ll see folk that have been sold a decent chainsaw to chop up one tree in the garden, advertising it for sale the week after, compared with getting a tree surgeon in they save themselves a fortune.

Me and dad went halves on a MS362, holly sh!t what a saw. We just use it for tree lopping and chopping up for log burners as you are wanting, really really impressed with it and a big improvement from the MS180 we still have that's just been demoted to pruning up now

Yes, good farmers saw apparently. Budget helps to advise. I bought a used Stihl 361 to replace a stolen husky 350. That's very impressive ( to me anyway)
The MS241c I picked up from a farm sale punches well above its weight but Stihl stopped making them for no reason ,yet they stuck with the 251,Stihl numbers are confusing

There was talk of stopping making them because they are not the best for emissions, but they're a good strong ,basic saw that you can tune or fix yourself. Stihl 291 is. Very similar but dearer
