Changing fuel filter on R series JD

How do you get the old filter off?
Do you twist the ring at the top off then slide the filter straight down as you would with a 30 series. I can't get it to move and am reluctant to give it to much wellie as the casting doesn't look that strong

There's a plastic nut around the top with notched on. Undo it first

undo the plastic nut at the top of filter,it'll probably be tight! Then just wiggle filter and it will drop down.

Just to be clear, I am only saying this is the type of spanner you could use. I do not know if it is the correct size for your tractor! You should be able to get something from your local motor factor or tool supplier
