Changing tractor.

I've been tasked with finding a new Tractor for a horse place I look after.

We've a tidy 1982 Zetor 6045 60hp which now isn't quite big enough sometimes.
And I suspect the hydraulic pump is on its way out...

I've a budget of £15k to find something around 100hp
Reliable, not ancient, preferably Aircon, doesn't need 4wd, don't want a loader.

Spotted a Nash 856xl which should be fairly bombproof but there is a fair choice of tractors within these requirements.

The other option is we've priced a brand new Kubota M5111
£37k with everything except front links and front PTO.
It was considered to get this and go out doing a bit of paddock maintenance contracting to get some money back out of it...
We've already got flail mowers, rollers, harrows post knocker etc etc

Collective thoughts please you miserable lot.

TS 110, MF 4255, JD 6400, MX 100c TL 100, Zetor something.

The tasks described do not sound demanding, any of the above are well capable and within budget, Infact you could swap each model for the 6 cylinder version for little or no more too.

Buy the 4wd when you are at it, no one regrets having a driven front axle when the going turns tough very quickly and your on your own and far from home.

For that budget and if 4wd isn’t needed I would be going for a something along the lines of TL/TL-A New Holland or a 5400 series MF with the snoopy nose. Plenty of 2wd models of them around at reasonable money from what I have seen.

If you are thinking new, Case have a deal on the Farmall C with loader for £37000 I think

Anyone have any thoughts on the new Kubota angle?

The boss was suggesting we went out contracting doing paddock maintenance in order to recoup costs.

I reckoned it was cheaper to leave it parked in the shed.
I do like the look of that 856. If it's as good as it looks in the pictures I wouldn't look any further. New aftermarket seat cushions are available for around £100. Wider wheels and front mudguards would be nice, and should be easily got second hand, but aren't essential. No air conditioning but they don't get as hot as some more modern tractors and you've got a sunroof and the hinged glass in the doors.

Front mudguards aren't an issue, it might do 2 miles on the road per year...

Wheels aren't much issue, it'll only ever be on very free draining pp when it's dry anyway.

The Zetor doesn't have air con, it's not a necessity.
