Chequer plate

I’ve bought a second hand crush that needs a new floor.

Will 4.5mm aluminium chequer plate be rigid and strong enough to hold an animal without a solid base beneath it (it would sit on the base frame so only supported intermittently along its length) or should I go for a heavier-duty steel chequer plate (that will rust)?

Will be fine ours is 3mm alloy plate, with strengthening (channels) welded under. It's nearly 75kg, wouldn't want it any heavier or much lighter

I think you will need to weld 2 or 3 supports just to be sure, and tek screw/pop rivet down

Can get you a couple of snaps when it stops hosing down

Note the channel I used is too deep for the loadbars so I have to put a tab of ply in there to save the wires
