Looking for suggestions for a decent saw for chopping box aNd angle. Ideally easy to alter angles of cut and deal with reasonless size material.

cheers

We've got an old 3ph one knocking about, not used for years as the blade is knackered. Blade turns slow and steady on it, what sort of blade would it be and where to get one?

I use an evolution chop saw. It cuts really well and a blade lasts ages. But... the angle gauge on it is crap, a vague approximation at best. If you need to frequently change the angle during a job, setting it up to a reasonable tolerance is a PITA. Also there is a certain amount of float in the pivot that means it can be a degree or two out on the vertical cut too. Not really a problem on agricultural jobs but you would definitely struggle with precision jobs. And it is noisy and messy too. If I had the money I would buy a nice liquid cooled bandsaw with speed controlled drop and a big feed table. But I don't, so I won't :)

I had a evolution rage 2 miter saw first that cut a lot of steel. There was too much play in the saw for accurate cuts. But my new saw is much more accurate. Most of the fillings get caught in the tray below where the blade cuts through. Cuts 10mm steel fairly easy. Can be a bit of a pain on angles because it only adjusts one way. Plenty of patients and its fine.

If it is one of those segmented blades, sit down before asking the price. You can probably buy multiple evolution saws for one blade. Google something like slow turning metal saw.
