Hi I'm having trouble with my claas 250 baler it's not resetting after back door is down.

What's not resetting? the net knife or the light on the control box?

are you opening the tailgate fully ?

Yes I am. It's annoying iv got to keep getting out the tractor to reset the knife

Open the tailgate right up and see if the trip is being pushed up over the trip drive rolling, if its not there is an adjustment on the bar that goes from the tailgate to the trip, I can't remember how you adjust it though as its years since I done one
Another thing that can happen is the trip gets burrs on the side from the drive roller this can stop it dropping back down, if it has they need filing off

Might sound stupid, but does it do it ok with the hood open? There is a hole in the hood for the net hook to rise up through when resetting. If it is hitting the edge of hole it will drop short and not reset. Locknut and bolt on the end of the spring loaded "ram" that resets the knife adjusts the clearance of the hook and the knurled shaft. Also is the spring inside the ram ok( can bind or break).

If you're too gentle opening the door the knife won't reset, try a higher oil flow to the door, (IE) slightly rougher...

Fair enough. 354 here bought secondhand and wasn't resetting and that was the problem. Looking at photos I thought a 250 was the same

Thanks. It drops fine to cut the net just won't lift up to get ready to net the next bale

But once wear n tear sets in, sometimes you have to compromise...

an adjustment on the reset ram should save the need

after the knife has tripped with the cover up lift the tailgate right up and leave it there and see what the trip does

I think the stopper on the rod has moved towards the back door
