Claas cmatic

Does anyone run a Cmatic in a 600 series Claas. We are looking at one now amongst others and just wanted to know anyone experiences with them. Is the gearbox reliable? The biggest sticking point with us is the JD engine.

Don’t know if this is any use to you, had a couple of demos of cmatic on 800 and 900 series tractors this summer (assuming it’s a very similar gearbox) and found it to be reasonably easy to use. Don’t know if the 600 series tractors come with the touch screen to control the gearbox, wasn’t overly impressed with it, not as simple to use as a case cvx and confusing interface. However I found it pulled better than a case when subsoiling, according to the salesman that’s because the gearbox has 4 gears and so it’s always got some mechanical engagement compared to other vario boxes. As for reliability I don’t know, being a large farm a lot of our gear is on maxicare

I know of one

It was one of the very first it had s lot of problems but he says it's ok now 3yrs on

Another friend had one but didn't like it and went back to hexashift after a season

I tried an 800 when we got our 650 claas but didn't think id like it for round balein due to the way it worked so went hexashift
