Run various Ares and still running claas biggest failing is they are unfashionable and so depreciate like a stone which is your biggest asset otherwise just fine tractor JD engine and for some reason the head gaskets didn't go and Gima / MF backend nice tractor obviously there will still be some old abused dogs out but overall good value s/h tractors if you don't follow fashion and buy to do a job

Had 2 x 816 and a 697
All 3 tractors were taken to 14000 hours with no mechanical issues
The 697 had a engine loom issue around 10000 hours and was throwing up error codes for no reason, after that was sorted it did another faultless 4000 hours
The 816 was probably one of the best they built imo, extremely comfortable and for those that get travel sick you can adjust the cab suspension on ploughed ground.
I Should of kept the last green 816
Do they have electric fuel pumps? A Few people have here JD 6930 and they have some problems with electric fuel pump and how is the fuel pump with Ares's?

My Ares has a mechanical lift pump , just done 11,000 hrs blew the head gasket. Cant complain but they are barstewards to get at the head due to the arrangement of the frame holding everything else above it .

I already read a lot about those engines blowing the head gasket, I have an 2009 NH t6050, bought it at 3600 hours and it now has 5800 hours without any big problems it is a very reliable tractor, but it is not good in comfort after work my back hurts(without cab suspension) and little weak for me and decided to change it something with more hp and comfort, but I do not want to buy something with more comfort but less reliable too, it's hard to find something like that under 30K, I like Ares's but I am not 100% sure if it is the best option in this case.

but it does not have a loader on :) and almost every ares I see has this lever.
The 2006 ares 657 I had never. Does it feel to be a 2 way as in forward and back or 4 way going sideways aswell. Some may of left the factory pre fitted for loader use. I've never seen one the arion I have now has a 4 way lever there for front linkage and auxiliary at the front

Ares 696 I found now has a lever like this, maybe it is for the loader, but this one doesn't have a loader on either.

Don't worry yourself about it if the tractor is working as it should. Is there extra spools on the rear. Have a play around with it and see what happens. Possibly Don't sit on the seat while doing it incase it's the ejector seat
