I wonder is it the same gearbox as in a baler or a more common Claas machine?
Years ago when I worked in a Claas dealer the parts system had a handy function that would tell you if a part was shared with another piece of Claas equipment.
Amazing the bits that are common to a Jaguar 860 and a Rollant 46...

Dont think the baler boxes are the same unfortunately. Problem is a lot of the new parts are obsolete for these older wagons

Will give forage wagons south west a try they might know of something. The comer gearbox link is interesting but i cant define the ratio as the teeth wont allow it to turn. Would like an old machine for spares as i say class dont seem to care much about parts provision for older machines.

Just take it apart, count the teeth on the crown wheel, and the pinion, that will give you the gear ratio. If your slightly out on the replacement ratio, shouldnt make a big difference. Any clue on the box as to who was the original maker? If it was Comer, a lot of the gears are available .

Not yet as seems to be the case with farming you quickly get another problem to occupy your mind. Is yours away on both the crown wheel and pnion?

Yes what had happened is the the side of gear box popped out and both lots teeth ground down lost all its oil !
It looks a basic diff gearbox cant see why any sort of box will do if it can be made to fit with some welding ? might just have to try it one off a mower maybe ?
