yes but talking to the right person, ie such as a doctor who has known the person for long enough /is experienced / knowledgeable with the mind illnesses /types such as Bipolar etc or someone else who has suffered similarly i guess.

Of course its a depressing subject and that's why a lot of people avoid it , selfishness/self preservation comes into play. that and the taboo side of it i suppose and the perception that a lot of people see it as a weakness or maybe not as a genuine illness in the same way as the flu or a broken ankle or maybe even Cancer etc is seen and perceived.

Honestly, I can’t see the appeal ?

I have to admit to enjoying Clarkson on Top Gear, & I do understand his style of presenting

but

I caught part of a Clarkson Farm show a while ago & as a farmer, it was the most embarrassing & cringeworthy thing I have ever watched

I have no idea who the target audience is meant to be, but I can only assume it is for light entertainment for people with no involvement or understanding of farming

yes, he probably does highlight some issues that the general public isn’t aware of & in that respect there may be a certain education value, but the whole package is so cringeworthy & continues the stereotype of farmers being angry, ignorant, privileged, middle aged men, that I think it negates any possible positive benefits

Its funny! Its funny seeing city people who haven't got an effing clue how to farm or what farming entails mess things up! Watching them run around like headless chickens when the livestock get out. And also for them and others to be understand just how hard the job can be sometimes. Sure Clarkson has a lorry load of cash waiting behind him if things go wrong but he doesn't hide that fact.
