"my farmer mates keep telling me that the only person who understands them is Jeremy Clarkson."

Let's wait to see what happens in series 2 when yields are better, prices improved, mishaps fewer, the farm shop's heaving and his profit's well up into six figures.

I went for a hospital procedure yesterday and as usually happens, in the small talk with the physiologist he asked what my job was.

At the mention of farming, his face lit up and he asked if I'd watched Clarkson's Farm (yes). He said he knew absolutely nothing about farming prior to watching it and had learned so much, especially that sheep are a disaster. :giggle: Was about to start watching it for the second time.

He has done more for our image than any other source in my life time.
So true, so far.

Just flagging some of the potential downside on this, for Clarkson's got a lot of previous.

For example, always having been a big Cavalier fan, he singlehandedly killed off the Vauxhall Vectra just because they sent him a diesel for the weekend instead of the V6 he'd been promised.

I had a couple of Cavaliers great cars, especially the two door coupe with big reclining front seats much better than a mini IYKWIM 😉
