Just on a similar note, we used to borrow 2 Howard rotospreaders back in the day, both identical except for the tyres, they were the same size but one was straight cut like the old JD 1360 mowers & the other was the zig zag pattern Avons.

The spreader with the straight cut tyres would do the same trick coming out of the field every time & slide across to the ditch without trying, but the zig zag never did even if you tried

To be fair it has been quite pleasant to sit on this for a couple of hours over the past few days in the sun harrowing orsey paddocks. Easily overlook the no brakes unless you pump away like Michael Flattley and the lift arms that need a bit of coaxing by jerking the clutch to help lift the harrows when needed
