Classics Earning their keep.

So after my grandfather selling his old DB 880 over thirty years ago, I managed to reacquire it. Needs a bit of TLC to get working properly, but this is a picture of my daughter on board in the exact same field as I first drove it 35 years ago this summer.

Technically not earning its keep yet but it will be this summer all being well.

Looks tidy there can't be much wrong with it.
Nice for you to have it back after being sold 😁 bet your grandfather would be pleased.

It only went next door to his neighbour. It's not done a great deal of work generally. Usual Brown issue with non working hydraulics to look at and a bit of a birthday for it in terms of a service and grease up etc. Lights all need looking at but not really too bothered about them. There's an old ifor (i think) ring hitch trailer that he sold with it that is coming back as well- needs a bit of tlc but will restore easily enough.

Just got to get that 5000 out the workshop now and make a bit of space.....

I’ve (re)found Radio Caroline on medium wave 648 metres for my 1993 Ford 7740 with its Medium/Long wave Ford radio is perfect.

For some reason no other medium wave radio I have can pick it up so well.
But it’s also online and on DAB.

What happened to 208 Radio Luxembourg ?? Emerperor Rosko ??
275/285 radio 1 and the roadshows ....... lol

Today’s yoof will never know such joys or learn such skills.
Local now retired contractor once said to me the young ones of today have never worked in the open with a tractor and listened to the engine and exhaust and watch and smell every thing working around them being shut up in a cab totally closed in isolated from the world. Personally I agree100%

I agree but you can stop progress. Have you had to feed and get horse ready for a days ploughing or milked cows by hand. Ever generation has it skills and problems my generation (34) is no staff on farms with mental health problems

Used to listen to the Armed Forces Network, LW radio for US forces stationed in West Germany. Looking back I can't really see the point of listening to (amongst many other things) live baseball coverage on the radio, but it seemed a good idea at the time.
Over on MW in the mornings there was only really DLT, who was utterly dire (prior to his 'indecent assault' conviction), or R2 which was for 'old people', or R4 for cricket fans and the recently deceased.

BFBS in Cyprus was always good.

Remember hearing this played by them one evening:

They could have shot me right there and then, because listening to this, I was in heaven already!

Undoing the effects of horses in the paddock yesterday, quick chain harrow and then rolling after fighting the hydraulics to remove the draw bar.
