My fan pump has an oil leak Is it easy to fit new seals or is it a job for a proper mechanic

Can’t really see where it is leaking but a cm of oil inside the air chamber so can only be coming from the fan

If you're talking about the fan on a laydon seeder it's probably the shaft seal on the hydraulic motor driving the fan. We've had ours fail several times.

Would that blow oil into the fan casing Oil is also being blown on the hopper so you are probably right

On our SR it blew the oil all the way from the fan to the Coulter as well as oil on the hopper. Be careful as it's emptying the back end of the tractor.....

Stopped as soon as I noticed Thanks though I hadn’t thought of the tractor back end Should have been obvious to me really but been a long slog this autumn
