Cleaning a Combine With a Compressor

We are trying to buy a compressor to mostly use to clean the combine on a daily basis. When I look at the various ones for sale their cfm value is usually stated, but what is enough to provide enough pressure to make a good and quick job?

I have found a couple of nice Ingersol Rand/Doosan examples that would provide approx. 100cfm, would that be enough?
I would only need to run one hose at a time.

Also, is there anything that I should particularly ask about when talking to traders, or are there any makes or models that are best avoided.

Any help/ guidance gratefully received.

We have a dual 65 so will work at 65 which is pretty useless or 130 cfm - which is great, far better than a leaf blower which we use for in betweens or when not near yard etc. We have made a narrow metal pipe clamped to end of yellow hose to get more pressure , they are expensive now, even half sharp ones- maybe look at hiring one for 4 weeks? Cheers dh

I've a 130 cfm. Care needs to be taken with it around any oil seals, flaking paint or stickers etc. It's really much to powerful for that job. 100 cfm would be plenty and much less is probably adequate.

Thanks, that's the kind of info that I was after.

When I’m away from the yard I use a towable 70cfm hydrovane which is plenty, I have a 125cfm ingersoll setup in the yard which is overkill to be honest. A lot depends on the size of nozzle your using, to big or to small and it will be useless.
I have a 1.5m length of 25mm tube with the end flattened which works great, it’s also handy to have a tap on it so you can turn it off for opening panels of climbing up ladders.

Got this to go on ours, fits nicely under the guard, hopefully will have enough grunt and will have to remember to take the battery home to charge!

We have an Ingersoll Rand twin tool road compressor for the balers.
To be honest I’m not sure I will get another if it dies, the cordless leaf blowers work well, are cheaper and easier to move round. A lot easier to keep the dust off yourself too.
Not much good for radiators though.

We have a retractable hose on one of the tractors that can do the rads if needed.

agree with what phil p says it dosn.t matter to much on cfm but the size of jet/nozzle/lance .tap on end is handy,
