He is talking bollox by lumping all levels of livestock production together to say it’s harmful to the environment his job because of his position is to bring balance . Actually, whatever these people were reported as saying, there's no way that a cloud seeding exercise could have caused the Lynton flooding. Whoever thought it was acceptable to print the article hadn't done their homework. For those who think conspiracy theories are rife, here's what happened in 1952 caused by the RAF cloud seeding
No, they don't know what they are doing or why

This is the synoptic weather chart for that disaster. It's a large weather system that caused heavy rainfall over a wide area ~

Mann also tried to erase the 30's warming and the 70's cooling , by inventing the AMO , to further straighten the handle on his hokey stick.
This chap constantly posts about phantom Weather Stations in the USA which have data made up by NOAA

I said that because of misinformation about cloud seeding. It really isn't capable of influencing anything like the weather system that brought about the Lynmouth flood, or any of the flooding that occurred in the south west peninsula on that day (or any day, for that matter).Science states that Cloud Seeding increases rainfall typically by 20 to 30%
I don't know why you chose to use the words "There is no way a clouding seeding ...", as cloud seeding will always increase rainfall by what degree varies by application extent etc

Here's the article that synoptic chart came from ~

And here's the link to a Met Office article about it ~
The Lynmouth flood cannot be a result of a cloud seeding experiment that took place 100 miles away, downwind, and on a different day. Quite who decided to report it that way is a mystery.
It might be interesting to see who was involved with creating that myth. The ex RAF cloud seeding team member will be long gone, but I wonder what the "journalists" are doing now.
That's right. That's the recollection in question. It's not based in fact ~ as you can see from the articles from expert meteorologists. Mr Yates seems to have thought there was a link between what he was working on and the flooding, but he was mistaken. Whoever published the story didn't check.

Not supported by your screenshot, sorry. There's the anecdotal recollection, which needs documentation to confirm the rainfall 50 miles away was actually the result ~ and where's the link to the declassified documentation about intent? The key point is an application of salt caused heavy rain 50 miles from the point of application where the skies were classified as normal summer weather.
Applications were applied upto & including the date in question.
RAF hid the fact they were modifying the weather & the intent to create weather extremes so large as to alter the landscape causing floods & unstable ground.
Those are the facts stated in the article.
