What are people's thoughts on these two machines as we're looking to buy one. Any pros and cons with each.
Clipex or tepari racewell handler

I don't think there's much difference in the actual mechanics of either.......got a feeling both are designed by the same person.
I'd be more concerned about the back up for either and whether parts are kept in the UK. ......otherwise it's a long wait from nz!
I've not had anything go wrong on mine (hd3) really apart from a air filter housing and the remote control packed up (I'll explain that in a mo)
Shearwell are only a few miles from me so obviously made sense to go with Tepari from them, there is potentially alot of electrics to go wrong (nothing has yet!) so back up is essential.
The remote control...... This is the only real let down, for the money involved it's disappointing that the remote is a cheap 4 button garage door fob, which eats through expensive watch batteries. I just can't understand why Tepari don't supply a decent rechargeable robust waterproof remote control!
Other than that, it's a great machine, bit of a leaning curve to get the best from it.
One big advantage of using shearwells software and psion handheld, is that the psion becomes the brain to operate the clamp, the weigh head/tag reader just become slave units to send data to the psion, the psion is linked by blue tooth so if you are working by yourself you can be in the race/pens pushing up, but can hold on to the psion and keep a eye on data etc.
Can answer any specific questions on how the clamp works and it's limitations if you like
Use mine all year round for loads of jobs!

@Well Refreshed We went with the clipex in the end. Just that bit more compact and a couple of other features we like more. Took a while to get here but it’s here now!! You looking at getting one?

I’m interested certainly. I like the fact the Clipex has the clamp behind the main clamp. The Te Pari is probably better backed up through Shearwell though, which is my main concern with the Clipex (other than the price).
