In moist plasticine soils, how do users have the press wheel and covering wheel pressure set?

I have very low hydraulic pressure on the coulters, which are in fairly shallow. Press wheel then seems to open the slot, which gutler struggles to recover. Not sure If its the disc or the less wheel that's widening the slot too much. At moment press wheel is set in middle pressure and gutlers on full pressure.

Thanks. Been using this drill 10 years and still not worked it out.

In those conditions you want no pressure on the press wheel at all, full pressure on Guttlers. Sounds as though you need to go on one of my operator courses!

with a weaving more weight on the back closing wheel less on the front wheel

closes the slot

the question is how wet and plastercene can the soil be and still produce a good crop if the slot does not close well enough the slugs murder the crop if it is too wet and it rains heavy before emergence the seed drowns hanslope /ragdale siltyclay soil

I have 3 fields that are waiting to be drilled for bg control they will be winter wheat if I feel it is dry enough in November or spring barley next spring
