Yeah, they've a conventional drum in front of twin rotors
We were looking for a go of one of them but as far as I know the dealer hasn't been heard of since offering so possibly can't get hold of 1.
I know our claas dealer can't get anything to demo and the JD man offered but I don't think they have they're demo machine yet

Local dealer has at least 2 CH out this year plus a demo model. Was going same speed as cr but only 25foot instead of 30.

We're on a lexion just now with a 25ft . So would be interested to see it going

I might be surprised it might turn up yet but there's not many days left
The comparison is that it doesn't have an aps drum, so really just a 5 walker combine with 2 rotors in the rear, almost like an old JD CTS, I think if they gave it a rotary separator behind the main drum it would be a bit of a beast for the size of it. But then where do they stop, how many different options do we need. The straw out of the back of it was in great shape and left a fluffy swath that dried out well after it got damp.

Did you find the tank small for the output of the machine

Yes, but maybe that's a trade off in weight etc? Tracks would be a great addition to it but then maybe it strays into other models price and output.
The CH is designed as a light weight pocket rocket.
Track are not an option because it is so light weight.
It’s a 40t/h machine designed to use a 28 ft header to work with 80 tramlines, in 3 passes.
Terrific value for money when compared to a CR or the flagship CX’s for the tonnage it achieves.

It can achieve such high rates because of the triple cascade sieves. In fact triple cascade is almost a waste of time on anything with Straw walkers as the walkers are the limiting factor. So a CH is the perfect combine to use them on.

I think we might see an awful lot more of the CH development in future. Maybe even a sort of drum put in front of the rotors on a CR! More akin to a CHR.

Very factually inaccurate!
I've never owned or driven any of these combines. So I can only go by what I hear 2nd hand. I'd have to give a bloke who actually owned and ran a CNH 10.90 and a Lexion 780, and says his new X9 outperforms both of them, publicly on video, more credibility than the "my mate said" brigade that frequent TFF.

In a perfect world, instead of running 2 X9s next season, as he says he's going to, he'd run an X9 and an Ideal 10. Then tell us how they compare. But for now, if this bloke says his X9 outperforms his New Holland and his Claas then I'll take his word for it. Unless someone on here has some first hand experience that says something different?

I find it quite amusing reading this thread that some posts have strong opinions on machinery that they have no experience.
We have run two NH 10.90 s since 2015 and been running NH for over 40 years, the 10.90 is a great combine and I have no complaints about its performance and reliability or the excellent service we received from our dealer, the 10.90 we traded in for a X9 was running as nicely on the last I drove it as it was the first day having clocked up 2250 hrs .
So why did we change colour?
As in any business you are always looking for improvements ,the 10.90 hadn’t changed in the areas we thought they could, the X9 is the 11.90 that NH should have built because it is basically a CR design that has been copied and improved on .
What was on our wish list for a 11.90?
Header design ,at 41ft the header was quite often the limiting factor in difficult conditions , we did try a Macdon which was really good.
Longer rotors, we always found rotor losses the limiting factor in wheat, the PSV belt served no purpose and was prone to blocking with green OSR straw.
Less daily servicing ,less cleaning down needed, self cleaning radiator
Having done 240 hrs on the X9 this season I would say it is in a different league to a 10.90, but then it is priced accordingly.
We have run JD tractors for 45 years but have always thought their combines where too American for our conditions…until now!
You have to give JD some credit for developing a combine with immence output, even if it is based on a NH design

What are the more modern axial flows like, someone on TFF must run one. They were always cheap and simple to run and fix, wondered if they have managed to move the game on since the days of the 2388.

Harry of Harry's farm on YouTube has one, it appears to cost him a fortune to run and is always breaking down.

Although I think he'd benefit from someone really good servicing it.
