I’ve done an application for two dwellings on my place and after considerable time and money I got them passed. There’s a few bits I’ve to do to compile with the conditions of the planning consent.
One of the big ones is that I’ve got to get a drilling rig in to sink some bore holes and then monitor to see if there’s any gas coming up from old coal mining works .
Plenty of people have lived here with out any problems.
When I found about this I chatted to a builder guy I know, he’s been in the business for along time and knows the crack, so I says if they find gas what do you do , put down Specialised membrane , ok I says how much is that, about twice the price of Ordinary suff . So I goes back to the Architict who’s doing the planning and say instead of spending xxx on getting the drilling done can we say we will just put the specialised membrane down to save on costs . No we can’t do that .
