Now, someone might suggest that something like this the day after a very large tender for urea that suggested they wouldn't take russian nitrogen was simply down to timing. Plenty of russian wheat available if they want it.
Anyone think grain could hit £500/t within the year?Could be an interesting day on the markets come Monday.
Be nice as long as fert doesn’t hit 2k£/t too keep upAnyone think grain could hit £500/t within the year?
Guardian can f off, if muppets like them had their way we wouldn't have any domestic supply at all by now just organic twigs to chew on
bet you wish you held on now!Just done 2 loads feed wheat £315 July. Big difference only £303 April never seem that much per month.
Can you think of a cheaper more versatile foodstuff to replace it with.Anyone think grain could hit £500/t within the year?
Can't eat fossil fuels for ever either...Slightly off topic.
Whatever situation would the world food supply be,in if mankind had to rely on Organic Farming to feed the planet?
The principle of Organic may be a good ethos, but mankind can’t eat principles and ethos’s.
most of our wheat is feed tho and it's unaffordable now.Can you think of a cheaper more versatile foodstuff to replace it with.
That would still only be 50p per kilo, so 20 or 30p to make a large loaf of bread.
It's still wheat though and human digestiblemost of our wheat is feed tho and it's unaffordable now.
If we'd kept on eating principles and ethos mankind wouldn't be up the creek without a paddle like we seem to be now.Slightly off topic.

it means more than 30p for a chicken or a dozen eggs....Can you think of a cheaper more versatile foodstuff to replace it with.

Mhmm! Was happy on the day.bet you wish you held on now!
And fertiliser was£280.Mhmm! Was happy on the day.
Sold two loads yesterday £344 July still a bit left to sell.
The loads sold at £174 for harvest last June perhaps but again was reasonably happy a the time.
Sold £334 harvest yesterday could it be £650 next year?
I actually wish Putin had not invaded Ukraine and wheat was £200/tonne. These prices just make the world a more unsafe place to live in.
How will the end users react to higher food prices?
Well it would be, The gas price rise was the start of Putins plan. Destabilising western governments may be the reason for the invasion of Ukraine rather than capturing more land. Are we really sure this war is not going to Russia's plan. And fertiliser was£280.
Gas was already rising last summer, but yes, you don't necessarily need to kill loads of people to win wars....Well it would be, The gas price rise was the start of Putins plan. The next twelve months scare me when the inflation hits in western countries.
Ok so 13 chickens to lay a dozen eggs X 125g a day makes 1.6kg. Say 50p a kilo, feed cost therefore 81p per dozen. So I would say it means about 40p in increased feed costs.it means more than 30p for a chicken or a dozen eggs....
