Not really, they were full of rotting grain from the fert explosion last yearMore bad news
Part of Beirut port's grain silos collapses
The buildings were badly damaged in the 2020 port explosion, which killed more than 200 people.www.bbc.co.uk
Probably Chuck it on boat and send it here as red tractor approvedBeen earmarked for demolition since Nov 2020.
100k tons. Had 50k tons in it. Apparently they were going to dispose of it in a safe manner. Sigh.
Probably do what we do, load ships out of store but have about 300 lorries hauling in at the same time.Watching the football got me thinking,
So there are supposedly 20 million t grain at or around Odessa.
Let’s take wheat for example although I realise some will be maize or barley etc.
Say 72 kg/ hl. So 720kg per metre cube
Or 1.38 mcube per t
That means there is 27,600,000 metre cube grain at Odessa
Google says Wembley is 4,000,000 m cube if you fill to brim
So there are 6.9 Wembley of grain at Odessa.
Google earth shows a stadium to the south of the port to give some idea of scale ( don’t know, but it definitely doesn’t look as big as Wembley.)
I can’t see anywhere on or near that site where there can be 6.9 Wembley full of grain .
Me thinks the world shouldn’t be banking on this grain being on the dockside ready to load when (if) they clear the mines…
Thoughts welcome. Im even more sceptical about any fert getting out.
4-5 ports around odessa and many terminals, it isnt just a few corn bins on the side of the harbour First boats hopefully leaving in the next 24hrs according to the turks who are incharge of policing cargo back and fore. You get the feeling it isnt going to run smoothly though, even the alternative route through the danube has been blocked today after an accident with a cruiserWatching the football got me thinking,
