Looks like prices are starting to slip again ,local merchant tells me there will b a plentiful supply of cheap maize come the new year, hopefully he is wrong

Grain Maize was offered few weeks back at £210 del to farm.

From memory think maize is worth about 5% more nutritionally speaking than feed wheat (might be wrong on that).


so that puts it about in line with current wheat values

Is that grain maize farm assured ?

oh I forgot the mills can use anything they want if it’s imported from Eastern Europe.

So that price was set domestically against uk wheat.
The question i'm asking myself is what is the imported cost of maize going to be that wheat will have to compete against? That will be the trigger in the wood pile wont it? Whats the eu and us maize yiels numbers like. US maize has been in freefall hasnt it?

Brazil are expecting large crops which will impact prices
