Combinables Price Tracker

prices are following the usa markets
which are all based on crop yield expectations which is based on weather forecasts

the speculaters in grain who drive the futures market price setting follow all the data all the time

what spot price we get at harvest will be determined by actual yields and the degree of need for farmers to move grain
sfi payments bps payments can fill cash flow for some

storage and movement will not be issue here in the midlands

the latest predictions in the uk are for 3.3 million tonne carryover and a 9 to 10.7 million tonne harvest

14.5 million tonne demand but a 2 million tonne end of season stock
leaving a couple of million tonne shortfall

imho the biggest unknown is the area of barley and yield of barley
this could be a lot lower than predicted

That's a good summary, thanks for that.

I saw some figures the other day saying that Barley was looking good in parts of Europe, especially Spain, so overall stocks should be up.
