Wondering about fixing a load or two of OSR for harvest 17 movement ? What's it worth, or do I hang on for that "big" price ?
Personally think that sitting tight for a while and hopefully the shortage of osr that will become very apparent will push its price higher up from what it is today. Just got to watch the pound as well as its strength will affect prices one way or the other .

Sold wheat Friday morning. Coming for it Monday morning. £130.50ex. Everyone is saying that mills and homes are hungry for wheat in the short-term as we are all busy drilling etc. I am taking the view that the pound wont fall much more, and that there is plenty of wheat in the UK to get to next harvest. Havent heard of many boats taking it all overseas, so perhaps there is going to be a bit of a crunch when all the land work is done / SFP doesnt arrive / pound gets some perk back.

Or it keeps going up when the trade realise that there isn't the wheat about that they keep telling us there is?and carnt import the stuff because its to expensive.i don't believe all this big crop that the trade would have us believe is there a lot of people I know have sold more already than they thought they had just on lower yields alone

Even if there is less wheat, I am fairly sure there was a reasonable carry over. And fairly sure that boats arent flying out of UK ports.
I'm inclined to agree with you. Hell of a lot of carry over from last harvest around here, it is moving fast mind. I would think if we are into the 130s there should be some profit in the job.

I've yet to find a merchant or commercial store who carried over more than very basic stock. We're export competitive thanks to the £. Subject to currency, I can see our export programme going hell for leather shortly. All my forward sales are being lined up for boats according to those I've sold it to.

the ruskies are now hinting that exports will slowing, ie they dont have it,i never thought they did, the chinese are holding the supposed world wheat stocks but have they got as much as they say, I doubt it. europe is not under a grain mountain and most uk carry over has gone or is spoken for, futures have again almost got to 140 for may17 the pound is low anhelping support prices but its more to do with supply imo and every time I ring merchant for an update they are keen buyers, ethanol plants are still running .I think I posted something similar a while back , so my shed is shut now even tighter as someone earlier thought it might get above 150 and im thinking it just might esp come march
