That’s quite handy then I suppose. The nearest mill to me is 10 miles away but it’s not a very quick tip according to lorry drivers so I’ve never bothered taking any.

We have 2 mills very close to us. I have a good relationship with both. Can I persuade the merchants to let me deliver? No chance of seems to go anywhere but, talk about carbon footprint. I wouldn't card they like my wheat and the fact that, being local, I can tailor my deliveries to suit them.

If you are not selling directly to the mill yourself the answer might be the traders are making money from the haulage themselves as well as the sales.
