I have a similar view but not committed 2 years out, only for this autumn.I just sold 2 load feed wheat forward for October 2019. @ £141.
Gamble
But i try to sell 1/3 expected tonnage forward each season before harvest , 1/3 forward once it's in the shed then price the last 1/3 as and when
First time I e every gone and sold some for the following season !
My thinking is....... No one knows if the pound will weaken or strengthen, if we'll have a trade deal or rely on World Trade Rules, or what the situation will be post Brexit I think I can accept £141 hopefully as a Base price to build on
Can't even get £300 off the combine now! It's a pretty depressing crop as it stands.Oilseed prices weaker because of -
Plantings in U.K. up 10%
Firmer pound
Cheap biodiesel into EU
Large Canadian crop
Palm oil stocks increased
Weaker prices in global veg oils.

I got quoted £295 today, with bonuses and a decent yield I can go at that. Decision to make is, should I? Having had the opportunity for considerably more it rankles, I do however always sell at harvest off the combine, although if we get into decent 3s again I may leap. Can't even get £300 off the combine now! Who needs Ladbrokes etc, when you're a farmer? We normally sell at harvest, but put some into store this year......sold in December...
Actually the harvest sold and December sold came out at similar money this year, so I'd have been better selling all at harvest.
Decided to store it all this year.....
Gamble again.....Doh
Struggle to get wheat in behind them here there just too harvest late in the seasonYou can get nearly £200 for hC beans for next year. Better than OSR?
Any news on Vivergo ?
Too much bruchid round here these days. You can get nearly £200 for hC beans for next year. Better than OSR?
There is talk that Vivergo "might" open again in April / May.I think Vivergo will remain shut for the rest of this season.
Any reports on what the medium pools are paying this year?
It's the same here for us as well! Bloody hate the damn things. I agree It's not worth spraying for bruchid.Too much bruchid round here these days.
Think the hc job is done locally.
I didn't bother spraying this year for bruchid at all, but I know plenty did, I'm reliably informed the amount of beans good enough for hc was very small regardless.
Glencore Agriculture UK OSR Pool was £330 delivered crush + Oil Bonuses for Oct/Dec 2017.
Currently taking bookings for Harvest 2018 pools. Please contact our Farm Trading Team (01844 261261).
A little ambiguous because every other company will quote a net ex farm price, after costs and charges.
I understand you want to make your price look as big as possible, but it would be better to publish the price in the same way as everyone does.
Wouldn't ex farm prices vary depending on distance to the crush, When I get my text off Glecore every morning OSR is always a delivered Liverpool price.
how does the pool prices work with a farmer say 2 miles from Ensus or me at £11 p/t haul or Selby at £6 , Will farmer 2 miles from Ensus get more in the pool than me?
